The
Whittier House was built as a private home and sheep farm for the
Hobbs family in 1885. The barn is one of a kind in the great
state of New Hampshire. It is a suspension post and beam barn,
meaning that the entire barn is hung from the ceiling using tension
to pull it together. The building has been the home to various
inns, cafes and restaurants. We opened the restaurant in May
of 1995, and today we enjoy the friendship of our many loyal guests,
and look forward to meeting our new guests every day.
Our
sincere hope is that you will thoroughly enjoy our hospitality, our
food and drink, and share your experience at Whittier House with
your friends and family.
