Congratulations on your recent engagement!
Thank you for considering the Whittier House Restaurant for
your upcoming wedding. We have two banquet rooms from which
to choose.
The
Main Dining Room is in the upstairs of our tastefully
renovated barn, built in 1885. There is a large dance floor
and a beautiful fieldstone fireplace. There is a full bar
and the room has full wheelchair accessibility, including a
private unisex restroom. The barn has exposed beams and
many windows that look out over the Ossipee Mountain Range,
providing beautiful, soft lighting. This room is for
weddings with a minimum of 40 guests, and will accommodate
up to 200 guests.
The
Hobbs Room is a quaint Victorian dining room, part of the
original Hobbs residence, also built at the turn of the
century. This room has lace curtains hung over bow windows,
and a hand carved fireplace mantel. This room is for
weddings with 40 guests or less.

you are interested in booking a room for your wedding,
please call Amy or email at the address below. Once we have
spoken or emailed, we will pencil you in for the date that
interests you, and we will put you into our pending file.
We will ask you to look over our menus online, or we will
fax our menus to you. Should you decide to book your wedding
here, we will require a non-refundable deposit of $350.00,
which will be applied to your final bill.
Once we have a deposit, the room will be yours for the date
you have chosen, and we will schedule your consultation.
The consultation usually takes approximately 1-1
½ hours. We will discuss the floor plan, introduction of the
wedding party, the toast, appetizers, meal choices and type
of service, the bar, decorations, the timetable for the day
of your wedding, as well as help in finding you a DJ, a
Florist and a Bakery. On the day of your wedding, we will
set the guest book, place cards, set up all table
decorations, set up the wedding cake, assist with cake
cutting, and meet and co-ordinate with the florist,
photographer and DJ. We
will box all toasting glasses, cake service ware, guest
books, the cake top, and extra wedding cake, in preparation
for your departure.
The fee for consultation, all of the wedding planning and
the hours worked on the wedding day will be $150.
We
require the menu choices, including appetizers, entree,
wine, toast, and dessert a minimum of two weeks prior to the
wedding. If an item is available to us, we can add to your
menu two days prior to your wedding.
We
require a final count for guests a minimum of ten days prior
to the event. The final bill must be paid by cash, cashiers
check, or credit card no later than 48 hours prior to the
event.
Any
additional guests will be billed on the day of the event.
All
wedding receptions are booked for a four hour time period,
commencing with the arrival of guests. If you would like to
book additional hours, we require a 24 hour notice. The
charge is $1.00 per guest per hour. This covers our cost for
paying kitchen employees and servers, utilities and other
costs associated with keeping the room open.
For
the safety of our guests, and adherence to our liability
insurance policy, we do not allow any food or beverage to be
brought into the building, nor do we allow any food to be
taken out of the building. The only exception is wedding
cake.
Confetti, glitter, rice, and bird seed are not allowed
inside the building. Bird seed and bubbles are, however,
permitted outside the building, at the conclusion of the
reception. The cost to clean or repair any damage or
unreasonable mess made by the guests of the reception will
be billed to the person paying for the reception.
Any
group that intends to consume alcohol in the main dining
room will be required to use the bar upstairs. It is against
the law for customers to transport any alcoholic beverage
from one room to another. We adhere strictly to the laws set
forth by the New Hampshire State Liquor Commission. No
person under the age of 21 will be served. No person who is
visibly intoxicated will be served. There is no bar
set up fee, provided that the bar sales are a minimum of
$350.00. Otherwise the set up fee is $50.00.
We offer a bottomless non-alcoholic
beverage buffet for $2.25 per person.
